School buses involved in accident: children injured

Three minibuses carrying school children were this morning (Thursday, May 04, 2017) involved in an accident on the West Coast Berbice Public Road, in the area of Rising Sun.

News Room was told that the three route 50 minibuses would transport children to and from school on a daily basis.

Police sources in the Fort Wellington area are contending that they are at this point unaware if the buses were on any special assignment with the children when the accident took place.

The traffic ranks are still out at the location. There are no fatalities but children were transported to at least two separate hospitals in Region 5.

There is no reported fatality.

The children were transported to at least two separate hospitals in Region 5, and according to information received, later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
