Five men arrested with firearm, wig, crowbar

A group of unemployed men were today (Saturday, May 06, 2017) arrested at the Glasgow Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice (EBB), following the discovery of a firearm, a wig, a crowbar and a screwdriver in a motor car in which they were travelling

The driver of the motor car PNN 7770 has been identified as 29-year-old Trevon McKenzie of Glasgow Housing Scheme.

The other men have been identified as33 year old Michael Embrack of Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, East Canje, Berbice, 27 year old Mickey Henry of Timmers Dam, Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam, 26 year old Jason Archer of Pilot Street, New Amsterdam, and 22 year old Sean Browne of Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

News Room understands that at about 01:30 hours, ranks were on mobile patrol along the East Bank Berbice Public Road when they observed a white motor car bearing registration number PNN 7770 on the Glasgow Public Road driving at a slow pace. The officers stopped the motor car and carried out a search on the occupants.

According to information reaching the News Room, during the search ranks noticed .32 Taurus semi-automatic pistol revolver with thirteen live matching rounds in a magazine behind the rear passenger seat. Further search unearthed a crowbar, a wig, a length of rope and a screwdriver.

Following the discovery, the men were cautioned, arrested and escorted to the Central Police Station along with motor car and the items found.

They men were placed in custody while the motor car the firearm and ammunition and other articles were sealed and lodged as investigations continue.

The News Room was told that detectives are currently reviewing robbery reports that occurred along the East Bank of Berbice in recent months, to determine whether or not the men are linked to those crimes.
