An International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF) course will help to certify 60 technical officials ahead of the South American Junior championships, set for next month.
There will be two courses held with each part certifying 30 technical officials with the first already being completed. All 60 prospective officials will write the theoretical exam on May 9, after which they will know their fate.
In addition, while only 60 will be certified, 80 persons will be trained, but because the IAAF Technical Official Giovanni Cardona can only certify 30 persons at a time the other 20 will have to wait their turn in order to be officially certified.
Both courses span a maximum of six days and will aid the level of officiating in the country especially with the South American Junior Championship on the horizon.
