UPDATE: Body of man found on roadside with chop wounds

A man is believed to be the perpetrator of many break and enters for which he has been placed before the courts, was this morning (Sunday, May 7, 2017) found with chop wounds about the body on Uitvlugt Access Road, West Coast Demerara.

Police have identified the man as 36 year old, Clinton Wax called “Bongo” of Lot 3 Bus Shed Street, Uitvlugt.

In 2015, the deceased was sentenced to 18 month imprisonment for break and enter and larceny. The Police say Wax was also wanted in relation to several reports for the same offence along with some simple larceny committed in his village.

The News Room has been told by police sources that the man may have attempted to break into someone’s premises,  who in turn gave chase and subsequently inflicted the wounds which led to his death.

The body is at the Ezekiel’s Funeral Home awaiting a post-mortem examination even as police continue their investigations.
