The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) on Monday afternoon unveiled the fourth edition of its Cricketer Magazine at a simple function at the board’s Regent Street office in Georgetown.

GCB officials display copies of the magazine at the launch

The 74-page, full colour magazine features statistics, news articles, features and a pictorial review of the Board’s annual awards ceremony for 2016. It also includes a Foreword from the West Indies Cricket Board president, Dave Cameron, and messages from Guyana’s Business Minister Dominic Gaskin and Minister of Sport in the Department of Education, Nicolette Henry.

Apart from the President and Secretary reports, the annual publication also includes a feature on the National Sports Commission’s (NSC) awards ceremony for 2015; Building the ideal cricket pitch; Jaguars Franchise League Three-day competition; The Fabulous Five; Guyana’s top performers for 2016; National competition and WICB tournament reports for 2016; and fixtures for 2017.

Prominently displayed on the cover are GCB Male and Female Cricketer-of-the-Year 2016 Leon Johnson and Shemaine Campbelle respectively, as well as GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie receiving the NSC’s award for Sport Association-of-the-Year for 2015 from Minister Henry.

The magazine is available free of cost from the GCB Head Office on Regent Street, and according to Sanasie, it will be distributed to territorial board across the region. The Cricketer Magazine was first printed in 2014.
