An argument between a father and son turned out to be deadly after 18-year-old Azeez khan of Lot 8 Better Hope, East Coast Demerara (ECD) was struck to the head. He died while receiving medical attention.

The young man and his father 4o-year-old Omar Khan of the same address were involved in a heated argument on Thursday of last week (May 04, 2017). As a result, the 40-year-old picked up a piece of wood and dealt his son one last to the head which caused him to fall to the ground.

The teenager was picked up and rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was treated and placed under observation by doctors.

The son works as a labourer while the father works as a security guard.

The teenager, however, succumbed to his injury on Friday (May 05, 2017), one day after he was admitted to the hospital. The circumstances surrounding his hospitalisation and subsequent death was reported to the Alberttown Police Station by the father of the young man. Contrary to what occurred, the 40-year-old man told the police that his son fell and hit his head while working on a ladder.

While the father was attempting to mislead the police about what happened to his son to cause him his head injuries, persons who were familiar with what took place came forward and told the police that the man struck the teen to his head.

An investigation was then conducted and the father who was later arrested confessed that he lashed the teen to his head during an argument.

He is being processed for court.
