Overseas-based Guyanese athlete, Andrea Foster, impressed on Saturday at the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Outdoor Championships in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Foster, who competed in the Female 800 metres final, finished with bronze, clocking a time of 2:11.48s for her Essex College. Susan Ejore of Monroe College won the event with a time of 2:10.73s, while Agnes Mansaray of Iowa Central took silver in a time of 2:11.40s.
Foster noted it was a good race and that she is definitely aiming to get better as the season rolls on. The daughter of top local sprint ace Alisha Fortune also noted that there are a lot of different aspects of her race to improve on and that she is working hard to get better with each meet she is a part of.
Foster will have a number of other events during the course of the next few months as she aims to run close to the two-minute mark or under.
