The police in ‘A’ Division are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 59-year-old Parbhudyan Persaud of lot of 83 Collingwood Avenue, Nandy Park, East Bank Demerara (E.B.D).
Police sources who are of the suspicion that the man committed suicide, stated that he died sometime between 12:00 hrs and Saturday Night and 6:00 hrs this morning (Sunday, June 04, 2017).
The man lived with his wife Chandrowattie Persaud and their son who is said to be a businessman.

Based on information received, the police were told by family members that the man suffered a mental breakdown some years back and was up to the time of his death, a patient at a health facility.
On Saturday the man reportedly asked his wife to leave their home and not return, and the woman went to their business place. He allegedly told her that if she’s returning, not to do so alone.
On Saturday night when she and her son returned to the home, they did not see the elder Persaud, and she retired to bed.
It was this morning when the man’s wife went to open their back door that she saw him lying in a pool of blood and immediately raised an alarm.
Persons who lived close by, after becoming aware of what transpired, informed other relatives and the police that about 14:00hrs on Saturday they heard what sounded like a gunshot in the area.
