One suspect arrested for robbery at Uitvlugt

The police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with the robbery of a 47-year-old Technician at an Entertainment Bar in Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara. The incident occurred at about 01:00hrs yesterday (Wednesday, June 07, 2017).

According to the police, Kiffon Gulliver was arrested and positively identified.

News Room previously reported that the suspect along with three other accomplices, one of whom is suspected to have received gunshot injuries, went into the bar and returned with a beer each, before pouncing on the victim and demanded cash.

Initial investigations disclosed that the suspects struck him (victim) with a bottle which broke. One of the broken pieces was then used to stab the victim to his left hand and thigh, forcing him to whip out his firearm and discharging several rounds.

He was relieved of his cellular phone, an undisclosed amount of cash and his licensed firearm.
