A 37-year-old farmer was at around 04:55 hours this morning (Friday, June 16, 2017) nabbed with a quantity of Marijuana.
According to information received, ranks at the Ituni Police Station stopped a passenger bus coming out from Aroima and heading to Linden where the item was found.
It was disclosed that a white salt bag was found on top of the bus containing seven parcels wrapped with black plastic and transparent scotch tape all containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
Courtney Sinclair, male Amerindian sporting dreadlocks, was identified as the person travelling with the said bag.
The man a farmer of Wiruni Upper Berbice River and Amelia’s Ward, Linden, admitted that he was taking out the drugs to Linden to sell.
Same was weighed and amounted to 11.804 kilograms.
He was told of the offence committed arrested and cautioned.
He’s expected to appear in court today (Friday, June 16, 2017).
