An 18-year-old woman who is a housewife was on Monday (June 19, 2017), arrested with an improvised shotgun and four 20 gauge live cartridges.
According to information received, the police carried out a search at the home of Lakeram Bakan and his reputed wife Reshma Ragganandan, at a Village on the East Bank of Berbice at between 14:30 hrs and 16:35hrs.
The weapon and ammunition were discovered and subsequently lodged.
Ragganandan who was at home at the said time was arrested and presently in custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
