Last evening (Saturday, June 24, 2017) the police in ‘C’ Division while patrolling the ‘C’ Field Sophia access road, discovered the unidentified remains of a man of mixed race. The man was lying on the roadway with a knife to his body.
The man who was clad in a dark coloured shirt, long black boots and blue jeans is said to be medium built and measured approximately 5’8″.
The ranks on the police patrol took the body to the Georgetown Public Hospital (GPHC) where doctors pronounced the individual dead.
The scene was re-visited by detectives who retrieved the knife and another object in close proximity to where the remains was discovered.
One man who goes by the name of Shawn Sandru of 614 ‘E’ Field Sophia was also arrested by the police and is said to be assisting them with their investigation.
The man has however since informed the ranks that he has no knowledge about the remains which were removed from the area. Several other persons were also questioned between on Saturday night and Sunday morning (June 25, 2017) but nothing of evidential value was acquired thus far. The investigation continues.
