At the launching of the tournament on Thursday, newly elected President of GABA, Adrian Hooper shared some details on the league. “We’re about to have our first competition of the year and one of the things we have done is bring back the second division so we can have basketball for everyone and at all levels, so there will be a first division, second division and under-23 aspect to the tournament,” Hooper noted.
Hooper also extended his gratitude to Banks DIH for their sponsorship which will be under the PowerAde and Rain Forest Water brands.
“Banks has come onboard with us and we must thank them for stepping so that we can have basketball back in Georgetown again,” Hooper mentioned.
Water Brand Manager of Banks DIH, Clive Pellew shared his reasons for Banks DIH’s contribution to the league.
“We at Banks are proud to be associated with this event through our brands and we have been in support of sport at all levels and when we see these opportunities we take it so that we can hydrate and held these athletes with their game or in whatever way we can,” Pellew shared.
The three-tier league will comprise of a first division, second division and under-23 categories with 10 teams set to participate in the tournament.
Playing days are scheduled for Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday and Thursday for the remainder of the year with action tipping off at 18:00 each game night.
