Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred about 19:30 hours on Friday night (July 14, 2017).

One of the men has been identified as Melroy Rose, 30, of 64 Block 22 Wismar, while the other two are so far unidentified. The men along with two others, Rayon Wilson, 35 and Junior Hudson, 29, who are said to be in a stable condition, were passengers of motor car PHH 9398 which collided with the rear of motor lorry: GPP 2993.

Wilson is said to have been the driver of the car.

According to the police, the driver of the motor lorry related that he was proceeding south along the eastern side of the Linden Highway when his vehicle developed some mechanical problems at Kairuni, causing him to stop.

He added that whilst in the process of effecting repairs under the front of the lorry, he heard an impact at the rear. Upon investigating, the driver said he discovered that a car with five male occupants, all of whom appeared seriously injured, had crashed into the lorry.

With the assistance of passers-by, the men, all except one who was motionless, were rushed to the Linden Hospital, where two were pronounced dead on arrival.

News Room’s Crime and Security journalist who’s in Linden will bring more details as it becomes available.
