Guyanese Yadram is Man-of-the-Series of U-19 series

Guyanese all-rounder Bhaskar Yadram was voted Man-of-the-Series of the five-match ODI series between West Indies Under-19s and South Africa Under-19s. West Indies won the final game on Wednesday (July 19) by two runs in Durban to seal the series 3-2.

The tall right-hander was West Indies leading runscorer with 205 runs in five innings at an average of 41 and strike rate of 72.69. He made two fifties with a best of 81. Yadram was one of only three West Indian players to score a fifty in the series, and the only one to do so twice.

Yadram was also effective with the ball, claiming five wickets at an average of 22.60. He finished with an economy rate of 3.89 and a best of 3-37, which is incidentally the best bowling figures by a West Indian in the series.

Notably, Yadram was the only West Indian player with over 170 runs in the series and one of only three players on either side to cross 200 runs. He was also the second highest wicket-taker for the West Indies. (Stats compiled by Avenash Ramzan)
