A two-storey building in the commercial district of Lethem in Region Nine has collapsed following a long night of threatening weather.
Two workers who were feared to have been trapped in the building are said to be safe.
News Room understands that they had left to buy food before the structure went tumbling down.
The property is owned by Frank Satnarine.
Satnarine, in a social media post, stated “and so I just received disturbing news, due to excessive flooding in Lethem, my building collapsed.”
Lethem experienced hours of heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning, thunder and fierce winds last night.
