Intoxicated teen driver hospitalised after car crash

A 19 – year – old male is seriously injured following a vehicular accident early Saturday morning on the Diamond Public Road.
The incident took place about 4:30hrs involving motorcar PVV 2702 driven by the teenager of 105 Land of Canaan.
Reports indicate that the driver was speeding south along the Diamond Road when he lost control of the vehicle and smashed into the southern curb of the road. The vehicle toppled several times before ending up in a drain.
The vehicle was damaged beyond repairs and the driver was badly injured.
Police sources said he was taken out of the vehicle in a conscious condition and taken to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre where he was treated and then referred to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
He suffered from bruises and laceration about his body; his condition is stable.
Police said they conducted a breathalyzer test around 7:30hrs which showed 31 micrograms.
