USA defeated Jamaica 2-1 to lift the CONCACAF Gold Cup for a sixth time on Wednesday. For the second Gold Cup in succession, Jamaica finished second best. They lost to the Mexico 3-1 in 2015.
USA scored on the stroke of half-time when Jozy Altidore netted in the 45th minute, but Jamaica levelled the scores through Je-Vaughn Watson in the 50th minute.
After a relentless attack on the Jamaican defence, USA finally breached it in the 88th minute when Jordan Morris netted the winning goal.
