Bandits Wednesday afternoon invaded the E-Networks Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) office, where they carted off several items, inclusive of a Digital Video Recorder (DVR).
According to police sources, two male suspects, one armed with a handgun, entered the mall where the store is located, and robbed five persons of their cash and electronic gadgets.
No one was injured during the ordeal and according to sources.
The police stated that the incident occured at about 15:00hrs when the suspects rushed into the E-Networks Store which is housed in the lower flat of the Mon Repos Mall and ordered everyone to lie on the ground after which they searched and relieved the victims of their valuables, including the day’s sales. The bandits then fled in a waiting motorcar.
A senior official of -E Networks said that workers are cooperating with the detectives who are on the ground. The official also disclosed that despite the ordeal, the other branches of the cable company on West Coast of Demerara, Berbice, Georgetown and at the Giftland Mall, remain open for business.
