The police have arrested five persons following the armed robbery committed on a Corentyne couple last Saturday of an undisclosed amount of valuables.
According to a police report, the five suspects include a 33-year-old driver of No. 72 Village, Corentyne, who was found in his vehicle within close proximity of the crime scene. At the time of his arrest, he was found in possession of a small quantity of cannabis and a search of his premises unearthed an unlicensed shotgun, two spent and one live cartridges.
