A proven and tested 10-member Guyana contingent will represent the Golden Arrowhead this weekend in the second annual Crossfit 12-12-12 Throwdown in the twin-island republic, Trinidad and Tobago.

Set for August 12, the event will take place at the Woodbrook Youth Facility in the capital Port-of-Spain. The Guyanese will be among a total of 94 athletes competing from St. Lucia, St. Marteen, Barbados, Suriname, Trinidad, Guyana and the United States of America.

Christian McRae, who impressed at the last Guyana Fitness Challenge, is part of the contingent

Guyana will led by reigning and two-time Guyana Fitness Challenge Male champion, Dillon Mahadeo, of CrossFit 592 gym. Also part of the team is Semonica Duke, the current Guyana Fitness Challenge Female champion.

Mahadeo and Duke apart, the Guyanese contingent comprises Christian McRae, Ian Rogers, Timothy McAndrew, Jamie McDonald, King Solomon, Stephen Fraser, Paul Muesa and Christina Rahman.

At last year’s Throwdown, Guyana fielded eight athletes with Mahadeo placing third in the RX (Open) Men’s category and Angelina DeAbreu finishing first in the Women’s Scaled (Novice) category.

The athletes’ participation in the event has been made possible with support from Ansa McAl Trading, Fitness Express, King Solomon Shipping, N and K Investments, Caribbean Airlines and Genesis Fitness Express.
