A 22-year-old fisherman accused of stealing fiber optic cables from the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT), appeared before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, charged with simple larceny.
Ricky Singh of Grove, East Bank Demerara (EBD) denied that between July 22 and 24 2017, at Soesdyke, Linden, he stole a quantity of fiber optic cables belonging to GTT valued $1, 394,444. The unrepresented man was released on $350,000 bail and is expected to return to court on August 25, 2017
