Police are investigating the murder of 50-year-old Sylvan Stull, an electrician of Herstelling, East Bank Demerara, who was stabbed to the neck while attempting to be a peacemaker in a fight at a Bar-B-Que.
News Room understands that the incident occurred at No.42 Village, West Coast Berbice and the main suspect has been identified as 32-year-old Rawle Bernard of Onderneeming, West Bank Demerara.
News Room understands that the suspect threatened one of his friends and during the heated exchange, Stull intervene in an attempt to quell the situation, when he was stabbed to the left side neck, allegedly by Bernard. He was rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital where he was treated but subsequently died.
The suspect has been taken into custody at the Fort Wellington Police Station. (Leroy Smith)
