Gunmen invade Coffee Bean
Just before lunch today, two gunmen stormed the Coffee Bean café located on Church Street, Georgetown.
The News Room was told by the proprietress that they were accommodating a number of customers when they were alerted to the robbery. From all appearances, the bandits, who were unmasked, trailed two men who had just visited a city bank.
News Room was informed that in addition to demanding money from the two male customers, the bandits turned their attention to other customers in the café.
The staff, who were behind the counter and in the kitchen, observed the commotion from the CCTV monitors and quickly laid flat on the ground to avoid being seen.
That did not help as the bandits nevertheless made their way behind the counter and robbed the staff as well. News Room understands that there are distinguished marks on at least one of the bandits. Police are investigating. (Leroy Smith)
