NA pump attendants robbed at gunpoint

The police are on the hunt for three armed men, who robbed two pump attendants on Saturday night at Main and King Streets, New Amsterdam Berbice.

According to information reaching News Room, the employees – 32-year-old Prakash Seenarine and 21-year-old Darren Reddy – were on duty at the gas station when they were confronted by two of the bandits, one armed with the handgun, while the other was on King Street as a look out.

The bandit with the gun held Seenarine and Reddy at gun point and demanded money. Seenarine handed over $86,000 which he had in his possession at the time. The bandits then made good their escape on foot east along King Street. The robbery occurred at approximately 20:17hrs.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage and investigations are ongoing.
