Fire erupts at GPL in Berbice
A fire has erupted at the Guyana Power and Light (GPL) facility in Onverwagt, West Coast Berbice (WCB).
According to information from the Department of Public Information (DPI), the Guyana Fire Service has the fire under control but the WCB area has suffered a power outage as a result.
DPI said the fire started sometime before 10pm.
