CPL: Emrit to lead Guyana Amazon Warriors

Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder Rayad Emrit has been named captain of the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the remainder of the Hero Caribbean Premier League. Emrit takes over from New Zealander Martin Guptill, who had to return home because of an important family health matter.

Wicketkeeper/batsman Luke Ronchi has replaced Guptill in the squad. He just completed his stint in the Natwest T20 Blast in England where he played with Leicestershire and is currently one of the top ten run scorers in the League with 429 runs at a strike rate of 180.25.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors are currently in fourth position with six points from eight matches and will next play the Barbados Tridents on Tuesday August 29 at the Kensington Oval. 

FULL SQUAD: Rayad Emrit, Sohail Tanvir, Chadwick Walton, Rashid Khan, Jason Mohammed,    Steven Taylor, Veerasammy Permaul, Roshon Primus, Gajanand Singh, Assad Fudadin, Steven Jacobs, Keon Joseph, Steven Katwaroo, Keemo Paul, Muhammad Ali Khan and Luke Ronchi.
