Air Services plane goes missing in Reg.8

An Air Services Limited Aircraft Sunday morning went missing just off Mahdia in Region Eight (Potaro Siparuni) and a search party comprising of the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ranks has already been dispatched.

News Room understands that the Cessna aircraft bearing registration number 8R-GFM, captained by Imran Khan, was in the process of delivering food supplies in the region when an emergency signal was sent out.

Moments later, authorities were unable to make contact with the Captain.

Head of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Eggbert Fields explained that ELT (emergency locator transmitter) signal emanated from the plane just after 9:00hrs, a few miles north of Mahdia.
