Hours after an Air Services Limited plane went missing, its pilot, Captain Imran Khan has been confirmed dead.

    Dead: Imran Khan

President of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), Eggbert Field told News Room that a rescue party moments ago, arrived at the crash site near the Kaieteur Falls gorge and had reported to him the unfortunate news.

Field said the lifeless body will be brought out to Georgetown in the morning and that preparations are already underway to launch an investigation.
He said based on initial reports, the wings of the plane were completely destroyed in the crash.

The Cessna aircraft, bearing registration number 8R-GFM, sent off an ELT (emergency locator transmitter) signal just after 9:00hrs, a few miles from Mahdia.
