The News Room was told the driver lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the northern ditch before toppling several times.

The driver and five occupants: 20-year-old Kezea Cox of Turkeyen, East Coast Demerara (ECD), 29-year-old Elroy Hopkinson of Sophia, and 22-year-old Ray Samogan, 22-year-old Seaton Dophness, 21-year-old Levi Taitt, all of Lodge, Georgetown, were pinned in the vehicle.

They were later removed from the vehicle in a semi-conscious condition by public spirited citizens and rushed to the Diamond Hospital where they were all examined by a doctor. Ray Samogan remains a patient at the hospital while Kezea Cox was transferred to Georgetown public hospital as she suffered a fractured right leg. Their conditions were both regarded as stable.
