Despite several difficulties experienced yesterday, the search and rescue team have recovered the body of the late Captain Imran Khan who perished in a plane crash in Region Eight on Sunday.

The body has departed Mahdia by an Air Services Limited Caravan for Ogle, according to the GDF’s Communication Officer Major Earl Edghill.

News Room was told that terrible weather conditions and the loss of sunlight resulted in delays in the extraction of the late pilot’s body.

The GDF explained that after feverish attempts, the rescue pilots were unable to have a visual of the extraction point and the mission was therefore put on pause.

An autopsy will be conducted once the body reaches Georgetown to determine whether the pilot died on impact.
