Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Communications Network (NCN), Mohammed Sattaur passed away on Saturday afternoon.

It is unclear where Mr. Sattaur died, however the News Room was told that he has been sick for some time.

Sattaur served as the first CEO of the state entity following the merge of Guyana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) and the Guyana Television Corporation (GTV) in 2004, up until 2012 when he tendered his resignation over accusations of financial irregularities, stating that he “felt that reports in the press had affected the image of NCN.”

He was described as “a nice man” who “got things done” by NCN’s Production Manager, Wendy Hermonstine with whom he worked with  from 2004-2012.
