Farmer killed with torchlight
Police are hunting for a man who allegedly murdered a 49-year-old farmer in Region Nine.
According to a statement from the police, Menie Xavier of Karaudarnau Village, South Rupununi was imbibing alcohol with the suspect on Friday last, when an argument ensued.
It is alleged that the suspect armed himself with a torchlight and gave the victim a severe beating about his head and body, resulting in his demise.
The body is presently at the Lethem Hospital Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem and investigation is in progress.
