Berbice pensioner killed in hit and run accident

Berbice Police are investigating a hit and run accident on Sunday which left 67-year-old Tain resident Anre Buchand dead.

The father of one reportedly left his home to go buy food; it was while he was returning home that he was struck down by a motor vehicle that later fled the scene.

Michael Latchaya, the brother of the deceased, disclosed that he received the news at about 19:00hrs that his brother was struck down. Upon arrival on the scene, he saw the body of his lifeless brother laying in a pool of blood on the public road.

The Police are still hunting for the driver of the motor vehicle as their investigations continue.
