Freed robbery accused back in court on more charges

Last then two months after 24-year-old Dexter Wray was freed for robbery, he has found himself back in court for the armed robbery committed on two Jus Waters’ employees.

Wray of Agricola, East Bank Demerara, is accused of being in the company of another armed with guns on September 2,2017 at Houston, EBD and robbing Roxanne John of $50,500 worth in cash and items property of Vick Odit.

It is further alleged that the Wray and another person robbed Mark Josiah of $25,000 cash. Wray denied both of the charges while his lawyer, Paul Fung-A-Fat made an application for bail.

According to reports, John and Josiah are employees at Jus Waters located at Houston, EBD and at about 17:15 hrs on the day in question, it is alleged that Wray along with another rode up on a motorcycle and rushed into the said business place and held the two employees at gun point.

The men made good their escape with the items mentioned in the charge, however Wray was later arrested and positively pointed out by the victims during an identification parade.

Police prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves objected to Wray being released on bail based on the seriousness of the offence and that a gun was used in the commission of the crime.

He was remanded until September 25, 2017. In July, Wray was freed of a robbery under arms charged by City Magistrate, Faith McGusty.  Wray was accused of robbing a  McDoom, EBD businesswoman of $1 million in cash and electronics.
