Boat operator nabbed with ‘ganja’

A resident of Parika, East Bank Essequibo was today nabbed in Bartica with 868 grams of cannabis. The police said they have long suspected the man of being involved in trafficking of narcotics.

In a statement, the police force said at about 10:30hrs acting on information, the 37 year old suspect who is a speed boat operator was arrested at First Avenue Bartica with a haversack containing the illegal substance.

He is being processed for court.
