Crying Mason charged with armed robbery
A 22-year-old Manson appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, charged with armed robbery on Monday.
It is alleged that Ceon Williams of South Sophia, on September 11, 2017, at Lamaha Avenue, while being in the company of another and armed with a handgun, robbed Vergil Flemings of a quantity of gold jewelry valued $250,000, two cellphones worth $40,000 along with $4,000 cash and a $8,000 wallet.
Williams did not have legal representation and broke down in tears as he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Police Prosecutor, Shawn Gonsalves objected to Williams being granted bail based on the seriousness of the charge and the fact that a gun was used to commit the crime.
Gonsalves further disclosed that more charges are likely to be instituted against the accused, since he reportedly discharged a round at the victim during the robbery.
Magistrate Latchman, after considering the objection raised by the Prosecutor, remanded Williams until October 02, 2017.
