Two former employees of Central Electronics were charged jointly with a series of embezzlement offences when they appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Devika Ramkaran, a 20-year-old former bond clerk of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara and Yvonee Rocharran of Kaneville, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to eight counts of embezzlement.

The duo is accused of fraudulently embezzling a total of $530,000 from Central Electronics between November 2016 and June 2017 at Robb Street.

Rocharran was charged separately with embezzling a total of $ 347,970 between May 27, 2017 and June 27, 2017. She denied the three charges.

Police Prosecutor, Simone Payne made no objection to bail being granted. Magistrate Azore released Ramkaran on $115,000 bail and Rocharran on $230,000 bail. The matters are adjourned to October 11, 2017.
