Six-year-old Glensean Skeete was today killed while practising for the St. Paul’s Primary School’s annual inter-house sports.

The child, according to the Education Ministry, was in the company of another male student at the Plaisance Community Center Ground when they proceeded to swing on a goal post. The metal structure (goal post) subsequently flopped,  throwing little Glensean to the ground and causing him head injuries.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The teachers at the school asked the News Room to leave the school compound when we visited there seeking information about  development on what might have gone wrong.

According to details received, the boy who was an only child was in the company of two teachers when the incident occured at about 10:00hrs.

The Education Ministry has stated that it will be providing Psychosocial and other support to the family, teachers and students of St Paul’s Primary during this difficult time.

The Ministry also offered condolences to the family and friends.
