A Police source indicated to the News Room that the evidence could lead to at least one teenager being among others heading to court on Monday. The mother of the teen has accused Police of wrongfully detaining her son.
The Police sought legal advice to further detain the men as detectives seek evidence in bringing the persons responsible for Saturday night’s attack on the Shaheed family.
On Sunday last at Freeman Street East La Penitence, armed gunmen invaded the home of the Shaheeds as they were preparing for a memorial service the following day. Fazal Shaheed, of Albion, Berbice was killed while his brothers Talim and Shalim, were wounded.
One the suspects has been cooperating with the Police after being picked up on Monday. Another man reportedly confessed to being part of the crime after his girlfriend refused to lie to detectives about his whereabouts on the night of the crime.
