Berbice man busted with ‘ganja’ en route to GT
The marijuana which was allegedly found in the man’s possession
A 23 -year-old man from Sheet Anchor Village, East Canje Berbice was Saturday busted with a large quantity of cannabis whilst travelling to Georgetown.
Police said the man, who is unemployed, was arrested about 12:45h at Fort Wellington, West Coast Berbice with 1,395 grams of cannabis which he had in a haversack.
According to a police statement, the man was a passenger in public transportation at the time of arrest.
The illicit drugs were discovered when the vehicle was stopped and searched by police ranks conducting a routine ‘stop and search’ operation in the vicinity of the Fort Wellington Police Station.
The man is being processed for court.
