Centuries for Paul, Foo, Anderson, Perez, Bramble

Five batsmen got centuries on Saturday when action continued in the fifth round of the Jaguars Franchise League Three-day competition across the country.

Keemo Paul smashed a belligerent 177 for Essequibo, Jonathon Foo cracked 152 and Kevlon Anderson 102* for Lower Corentyne, Raymond Perez scored 138 for Georgetown and Anthony Bramble made 105 for Upper Corentyne.

East Bank, resuming on 161-7 in response to West Berbice’s 140, totalled 191 with Gudakesh Motie picking up 5-39 and Ceon Glasgow 2-36.

Batting a second time, West Berbice made 190 with Arthley Bailey hitting 75 and Motie 50. East Bank, needing 140 for victory, closed day two on 62-2.

At Port Mourant, Upper Corentyne managed a 157-lead after posting 310 in response to Essequibo’s 153. David Latchaya struck 79 and Anthony Bramble 105. Left-arm spinner Anthony Adams picked up 7-91 and Ricardo Adams 2-78.

Essequibo then raced to 361-3 in 63 overs with Paul hammering 177 off 126 balls. Ricardo Adams is on 62, while Kevon Boodie made 59. The lead is now 204.

Over at Lusignan on the opening day, Lower Corentyne posted 343-3 against East Coast with Jonathon Foo smashing 152 and Kevlon Anderson unbeaten on 102.

At Tuschen, Georgetown, resuming on their overnight score of 1-0 in response to West Demerara’s 333, made 396 with Raymond Perez hitting 138. Christopher Barnwell made 86, Ramaal Lewis 68 and Steven Sankar 48. Bowling for West Demerara, Travis Persaud claimed 3-12, Richie Looknauth 3-96 and Keshram Seyodan 3-104.
