3 years jail for porter caught with cocaine

A 42-year-old porter of Albouystown, Georgetown was sentenced to three years imprisonment and fined $30,000 by Magistrate Dylon Bess on Monday for trafficking cocaine.

Wendell Andrews confessed that on May 25, 2017, at Cross and Leopold Streets, Georgetown, he had nine grams of cocaine in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

According to reports, on the day in question, the police conducted a raid in the area, during which they searched Andrews and found a small black plastic bag with cocaine inside, concealed in his crotch.

During his appearance at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, Andrews did not have legal representation and pleaded with the Magistrate for leniency.
