“It’s confirmed that we have five Radicals so far.”

That was the response from Guyana Motor-Racing and Sports Club (GMR&SC) president Rameez Mohamed to local journalists on Sunday when quizzed on whether the Radical cars will indeed be racing at the November leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship in Guyana.

Speaking on the sidelines of the GMR&SC’s ‘Caribbean Invasion’ Drag Meet, Mohamed further stated that some of Guyana’s leading drivers will be powering the Radicals, which would be competing in Guyana for the first time.

“So far confirmed are Mark Vieira, Kristian Jeffrey, two of Stanley Ming’s cars- I think his son (Calvin Ming) is driving one; I’m not sure who’s going to be driving the second one- and there’s a guy name (Suleman) Esuf from Barbados- he’s coming as well,” Mohamed related.

Meanwhile, the GMR&SC head also stated that Barbados Group Four driver Roger Mayers is slated to compete at the November race meet.

“Yes. He did not confirm with us, but they’re already making preparations…well so I heard from his mechanic, they’re making preparation to come for the race meet- he and his brother (Barry Mayers),” Mohamed said.

The November race meet is by far the largest in terms of competitors’ participation, as well as spectator turnout. It brings the curtains down on the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship, and the local season as well.
