The partly decomposed body of a female who was found at Foulis, East Coast Demerara (ECD) on September 27, 2017, has been identified as that of 44-year-old Indroutie Dass, a domestic worker of Logwood Squatting area Enmore, ECD.

News Room understands that she was identified by her cousin on October 4, who told police that the woman was last seen alive around 16:30hrs on September 24. The remains of Dass were discovered by a man who was about to dump garbage in the area.

The police discovered a hammock close to the remains as well as multi-coloured slippers.  It is suspected that she was raped after it was found that her pants and underwear were pulled down almost below her knees and her shirt was pulled up above her breast. She was found lying face up and the skin from her arms was torn off.

A “yellow metal chain” was also found wrapped around the neck of the deceased.
