Prison escapee recaptured

A prisoner who escaped from the Lusignan Prison on Wednesday, October 04, 2017, has been recaptured.

According to the police force, Dellon Blake was recaptured following “prompt and spirited actions by a resident of Soesdyke/Linden area,” and is currently in police custody.

Blake managed to scale the fence at the Lusignan Prison in the wee hours of Wednesday, October 4, “in full view of Police Ranks performing duties in the guard hut tower.” This was disclosed by the police earlier who also said the area is well illuminated. As such, a Detective Superintendent of Police was appointed to conduct an investigation into the escape of the prisoner.

Blake, who was on remand for the offense of rape, used his bed sheet and wooden pallets to help himself over the fence.
