Baby’s skull fractured, man missing in separate boat accidents

A three-month-old baby is battling for his life while another man is feared dead following two separate boat accidents which occurred in the Pomeroon River on Friday.
Details surrounding the first accident, which occurred early Friday morning, remain sketchy but News Room was reliably informed that the infant is a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Reports are that the baby’s brain has shifted and he suffered a seizure last night.
The other boat accident occurred just after midnight on the left bank of the Pomeroon River.
Police sources have confirmed a paddle boat was transporting five persons when a speedboat passed some 20/30ft away from them, causing strong waves to cause the paddle boat to topple.
When the boat capsized, two men fell into the river but only one managed to swim to safety. The three other passengers managed to balance the boat but they could not find any signs of the other man.
Police said he remains missing as investigations continue.
