Home of senior cop burglarised; gun, 50 rounds of ammo stolen

Police are investigating an alleged Break and Enter and Larceny committed on the dwelling house of Superintendent of Police, Linden Isles at 13th Avenue Diamond, East Bank Demerara.

A police release noted that the incident occurred between 08:00hrs on Sunday, October 8 and 15:00hrs on Monday, October 09, 2017, during which a licence 9mm Pistol and 50 matching rounds of ammunition along with cash and other valuables were stolen.

Initial investigations revealed that the house was secured on Sunday with the firearm and ammunition in a wardrobe in a bedroom and no one was reportedly at home when the incident occurred.

According to the police release, when the senior cop returned home on Monday, he discovered a door on the first floor was breached.
