The Guyana Police Force has described a naked photo of recaptured prison escapee, Royden Williams as a “grossly, unethical, irresponsible and insensitive act.”

The photo of Williams was leaked by prison officers on Tuesday, hours after Williams was recaptured and taken to the Camp Street prison for admittance.

At the time the photo was taken, the notorious criminal was being processed for placement in a cell.

“An investigation has been launched, even though striping the prisoner would have been necessary for the purpose of complete identity, since there are tattoos about the body,” the Force noted in a statement Tuesday night.

“Such an act of exposing the photograph will not and cannot be condoned. The Guyana Police Force warn against the irresponsible use of social media in light of growing strength, of posting photographs that can be deemed unethical,” the statement concluded.
