Bartica Football Association receives floodlights from GFF
The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has presented eight floodlight lamps to the Bartica Football Association (BarFA) to aid in the development of football in the area.
This presentation was done by Richard Groden, GFF’s Advisor, to Carmel Williams, Third Vice-President of the BarFA and GFF’s Executive Member in the compound of the Regional Administration building in Bartica.
In brief comments, Groden said: “The GFF, in recognition of the important contribution the BFA has made to the development of football over the years, has undertaken to do its part in facilitating the ongoing work of the organisation. With that being said, we believe the donation of these lighting fixtures being donated today will further improve the efforts by the Federation to simulate football activities within Region Seven.”
Williams expressed her gratitude for this investment while outlining some of the challenges experienced to execute games in the region. In like manner, the Regional Chairman, Gordon Bradford, and the Regional Electrician, Lennox Fredricks, who were also present at the handover, expressed their support for the investment and pointed out that works to integrate the lights are underway in the form of already-planted posts.
This is the second such presentation made to a GFF’s Regional Member Association – the first was Buxton United FC – as part of the Executive Committee’s strategic mandate to develop football infrastructure in the sub-associations.
